The Basics of Backgammon Strategies – Part 1

The goal of a Backgammon game is to shift your chips around the Backgammon board and bear them off the game board quicker than your challenger who works harder to achieve the same buthowever they move in the opposite direction. Succeeding in a game in Backgammon needsrequires both strategy and good luck. How far you can shift your checkers is left to the numbers from rolling a pair of dice, and just how you move your pieces are decided on by your overall gambling tactics. Players use different tactics in the different parts of a game dependent on your positions and opponent’s.

The Running Game Plan

The aim of the Running Game tactic is to lure all your chips into your inside board and bear them off as fast as you could. This technique focuses on the pace of advancing your checkers with absolutely no efforts to hit or stop your competitor’s pieces. The ideal time to employ this technique is when you think you can move your own chips quicker than your opposition does: when 1) you have less checkers on the board; 2) all your chips have past your competitor’s chips; or 3) the opponent doesn’t employ the hitting or blocking tactic.

The Blocking Game Strategy

The primary aim of the blocking tactic, by its name, is to block your competitor’s chips, temporarily, while not fretting about shifting your checkers rapidly. After you’ve established the blockade for your competitor’s movement with a few chips, you can shift your other pieces swiftly from the board. You really should also have a good plan when to extract and move the chips that you used for blocking. The game becomes intriguing when your competitor uses the same blocking tactic.
