The Essential Facts of Backgammon Strategies – Part 1

The goal of a Backgammon match is to move your pieces around the Backgammon board and get them off the game board faster than your opposing player who works harder to attempt the same buthowever they move in the opposite direction. Winning a game in Backgammon requires both tactics and good luck. How far you can shift your pieces is up to the numbers from rolling a pair of dice, and the way you shift your chips are decided on by your overall gambling techniques. Enthusiasts use different plans in the different parts of a game based on your positions and opponent’s.

The Running Game Tactic

The aim of the Running Game tactic is to bring all your pieces into your home board and pull them off as fast as you could. This plan concentrates on the speed of moving your checkers with absolutely no time spent to hit or stop your opponent’s checkers. The ideal time to employ this plan is when you believe you can shift your own chips quicker than your opponent does: when 1) you have a fewer chips on the board; 2) all your checkers have moved beyond your competitor’s pieces; or 3) the opponent doesn’t use the hitting or blocking technique.

The Blocking Game Plan

The main aim of the blocking technique, by its name, is to stop the competitor’s checkers, temporarily, while not worrying about shifting your checkers quickly. As soon as you have created the blockage for the opponent’s movement with a few chips, you can move your other checkers rapidly off the board. The player should also have a good strategy when to withdraw and move the checkers that you utilized for blocking. The game gets interesting when the opposition utilizes the same blocking strategy.
