The Essential Basics of Backgammon Game Plans – Part One

The aim of a Backgammon match is to shift your checkers around the Backgammon board and pull those pieces off the game board faster than your opposing player who works just as hard to do the same buthowever they move in the opposing direction. Winning a match in Backgammon needsrequires both tactics and fortune. How far you can move your pieces is left to the numbers from rolling a pair of dice, and how you shift your checkers are determined by your overall gambling techniques. Enthusiasts use differing strategies in the differing stages of a match depending on your positions and opponent’s.

The Running Game Tactic

The goal of the Running Game strategy is to lure all your chips into your home board and pull them off as quick as you can. This strategy focuses on the speed of moving your pieces with absolutely no time spent to hit or barricade your competitor’s chips. The best scenario to use this technique is when you think you can shift your own pieces faster than the opposing player does: when 1) you have a fewer pieces on the game board; 2) all your pieces have past your opponent’s checkers; or 3) your opponent does not employ the hitting or blocking strategy.

The Blocking Game Plan

The main goal of the blocking technique, by its title, is to stop your competitor’s checkers, temporarily, not worrying about moving your pieces rapidly. After you’ve established the blockage for the opponent’s movement with a couple of chips, you can move your other chips swiftly from the board. You will need to also have a clear strategy when to withdraw and move the chips that you used for blocking. The game gets intriguing when your competitor uses the same blocking technique.
